Kappa League

The Kappa Leadership & Development League program is designed to aid high school aged young men grow and develop leadership talents in every phase of human endeavor. Kappa League provides both challenging and rewarding experiences to enhance their lives. With Kappa Alpha Psi's fundamental purpose being achievement, it's our aim to help these young men achieve worthy goals for themselves and make constructive contributions to their community when they assume leadership roles. The training, experience and friendly interest of successful men is placed at the disposal of youth needing inspiration and counsel regarding their choice of a life's career, while the community is made aware of the problems that may be encountered as these youth seek to realize lives of usefulness.

Program Objectives

  • To help youth, especially those of high school age, in the selection of courses leading to vocations compatible with their aptitudes, interests, and personalities.
  • To assist our students with their coursework, with initial employment, and mentoring their progress in their chosen field. To assist parents in advising their children by giving them opportunities to talk over their problems with those who are successful in their chosen vocations.
  • To afford youth a respite from the drudgery of the streets through sponsored entertainment and cultural enrichment.
  • To inform youth of the values of higher education, of assistance available for continued educational pursuits such as: scholarships, loans, professional counseling, fellowships; and of various occupational and professional opportunities.

Beautillion Militaire

Through the Kappa Foundation of Charlotte, the members of the Charlotte Alumni Chapter volunteer our time and resources to "invest in the future". This program provides a structured atmosphere for young men in their junior and senior years of high school to develop socially, culturally and intellectually through mentored workshops while providing scholarship opportunities. Students are selected for participation based on character, academic performance, talent and extracurricular activities. Planned activities culminate with an annual formal presentation that highlights the participants' development, accomplishments and talents.

Program Objectives

The Beautillion Militaire aims to provide a structured environment for high school students where their lives are enriched through professionally supervised educational research, seminars, workshops and social activities.

Specifically, the program provides participants with exposure in the following areas:

  • Seminars and workshops
  • Self-awareness
  • Understanding of personal potential
  • Fellowship with other aspiring high achievers
  • Professional mentoring
  • Teamwork and leadership skills
  • Social and interpersonal skills
  • College selection and career path guidance
  • College preparation and academic development
  • Academic scholarships opportunities
  • Annual awards banquet and formal ball to acknowledge participation and achievement
