Kappa League (9-11)
The Kappa League program is an initiative for high school students in grades 9 – 11, designed to cultivate the next generation of socially aware, academically driven, and community-focused young men. The program offers structured guidance and mentorship to help participants grow into responsible leaders and productive citizens. Through a series of workshops, group discussions, service projects, and leadership development activities, students are encouraged to set high personal and academic standards while exploring their talents and potential.
Participants in the Kappa League engage in experiences that extend beyond the classroom, including college tours, career readiness training, financial literacy, public speaking, and etiquette. The program emphasizes academic excellence, character development, cultural awareness, and civic engagement, all within a supportive environment led by committed mentors and role models.
Program Objectives
Promotion of Higher Education: Inform youth of the value of higher education, of assistance available for continued educational pursuits such as: scholarships, loans, professional counseling, fellowships; and of various occupational and professional opportunities.
Educational and Career Guidance: Assist youth in the selection of courses leading to careers and vocations compatible with their aptitudes, interests, and personalities and to support parents / guardians in advising their children by providing opportunities to talk discuss issues and opportunities with those who are successful in their chosen careers / vocations.
Cultural and Recreational Enrichment: Providing enjoyable and educational experiences, such as trips to cultural and recreational venues, to offer respite from daily challenges and broaden their perspectives.
Participant Expectations
Full participation and engagement in each biweekly (on average) meeting, seminar or activity (no more than three (3) preapproved / excused absences through the program
Completion of all program requirements, written or oral, including any essays, presentations or other combined project
100% participation in ALL community service and / or volunteer sessions on the program calendar
